The foundation for any ART-based modular system, Tiptop Audio's Octopus converts 5-pin or USB MIDI input to eight channels of ART, along with eight velocity CV and drum trigger outputs. ART is not 1V/Oct control voltage, but rather a high-speed digital data stream which may allow multiple ART-compatible modules to work together with seamless coordination. In tandem with other Tiptop ART modules such as ATX1 and Vortex, true polyphonic modular patches are more easily possible than ever before.

For ease of use, ART channels correspond to different MIDI channels, so note data coming from a keyboard on MIDI channel five will be sent out of ART channel five. Octopus supports numerous different conifgurations, grouping ART channels together into polyphonic units as desired. As a bonus, each channel also features a Velocity CV output, and eight drum trigger outputs mapped to MIDI channel ten allow you to get your percussion modules in on the fun, too.
