Renowned for their thick tones and deep drones, each of Erica Synths’ modules grants access to intrinsically meaty sounds that span across a diverse range of genres. Their Fusion series modules feature integrated vacuum tubes for characteristically punchy and aggressive sounds, their Black series modules are ergonomically designed with live performance in mind, and their Pico series consists of affordable but powerful modules in a compact format.
The company was founded by Girts Ozolins, who made his humble beginnings selling DIY kits and components to avid designers and synthesists across the globe. After many years rebuilding classic synthesizers, Girts realized that he had yet to build a Polivoks. This inspired him to seek out the original ICs and create a line of DIY synthesizers using the same components found in the original.
Despite their early DIY proclivities and unabashed inspiration sourced from vintage synthesizers, Erica Synths’ latest products are anything but conventional or derivative. Their Black Wavetable VCO and Matrix Mixer each serve as testaments to this ingenuity. The former features 256 individual waveshapes arranged across sixteen banks with sixteen waves per bank, whereas the latter enables the routing of any ten inputs to any eight outputs via touchscreen.
