Soundmachines LS1 Lightstrip
The Sound Machines LS1 generates CV and gate signals based on the position of the user’s finger on the slider.
The module features three distinct modes of operation: Live mode, Hold mode, and REC mode. Live mode is fairly straightforward, touch the slider and it generates a CV and gate signal. Consequently, the LEDs will light in accordance with changes in the voltage output. This feature works wonderfully in tandem with a quantizer. Hold mode works similarly to Live mode, but it holds the CV value when the user’s finger is removed. Finally, Record mode captures and loops finger movements.
This intuitive controller is a tactile and fun addition to any Eurorack modular synthesizer setup.

Options
- For each of the modes you can choose (via jumpers on the back) the CV range (0-5V or 0-10V), the orientation of the module (upside down for jacks at the top), the mode of Record, internal or external (the GATE output in this case doubles as a REC button trigger)
- When the LS1 is in External GATE mode (set by the jumper on the back), regardless of whatever state you are (obviously either LIVE and HOLD will not act on the GATE signal!) the module will record the finger position as long as the GATE input is HIGH (max 5V) and will loop the recorded values as soon as the GATE became LOW again. If GATE length exceeds the maximum available time, the loop phase starts automatically
