Moog Drummer From Another Mother

The Drummer From Another Mother is a semi-modular analog percussion synthesizer for Eurorack modular systems. Despite its percussive leanings, the DFAM is anything but a traditional drum machine. In fact, it can be seen as an entirely new approach to the generation of percussive patterns.

With the DFAM, exploration and experimentation are privileged over traditional pattern creation. Consequently, it provides a plethora of sonic possibilities when it comes to creating and meaningfully manipulating rhythms.

Percussion & Synth Sounds From The Moog DFAM
Moog's DFAM or Drummer From Another Mother is an analog percussion focused synthesizer with a built in 8 step sequencer. The first part of this video shows some percussion sounds from the DFAM, and in the second half we used it as a synth voice, which it is capable of since it is a two oscillator synth with sync and FM as well as a noise generator.
Moog DFAM Analog Drum Synth
We went to the Moog House Of Electornicus where we were able to try out the new DFAM (Drummer From Another Mother) and make this video. The first half of the video shows the DFAM being CV controlled and Triggered by a Malekko Voltage Block and Varigate 8+, in the second part we used the built in 8 step sequencer to sequence the DFAM. The sound from both videos is coming from only one DFAM.
Numark PT01 Mini Scratch Turntable With Empress Echosystem and DFAM
In this video we used the Numark PT01 mini turntable with a few 7” records run through the Empress Effects Echosystem, the Moog DFAM is keeping a beat underneath the turntablism. The PT01 can play 12” or 7” records and has a built in scratch switch for cutting the sound in and out while scratching. We used a Hawaiian record and an Oren Ambarchi track for the sound sources. The Echosystem is a powerful stereo delay with 12 algorithms which each have multiple modes.
The Secret to Semi-Modular Setups with the Patch Pals
Patch Pals Jacob and Wes go over some different semi-modular setups and the concepts behind using different pieces of gear and even different formats in a "modular ecosystem."

They take a look at their favorites including the Herbs & Stones Liquid Foam, Moog DFAM, Buchla 208c, Make Noise Strega, as well as few effect pedals and more!
