Future Sound Systems TG3
The TG3 Gristleizer Filter is a JFET based multi-feedback bandpass filter that helped shape the sonic character of the original Gristleizer. The filter is almost reminiscent of a wah-wah pedal and is able to create vocal tones, particularly when several of them are used in parallel. It features two frequency CV inputs, with an attenuverter on CV2. The register sets the range of the frequency control by shifting the resonant frequency at the RC stage of the filter and the frequency control affects the gating of the filter's JFET stage. In addition to the register control, a resonance control has been added which allows the filter to self-oscillate, this is dependent on the frequency control. The drive adds gain to the signal before it enters the filter and the level controls the amplitude of the signal at the output. The bandpass filter found in the TG3 was an essential part of the original Gristleizer and this module adds a great deal of functionality and control to an already interesting filter design.
