Future Sound System FIL3 Spectral Devastator is the successor to the FIL2 that adds color, blast, drive, and level per filter. It lives up to its name, providing nasty filter tones even from simple input sources. FIL3 features a high pass and a low pass which can be chained together or used separately. The cutoff controls now feature attenuverters and better control range. The resonance increases the gain of the signal and goes all the way to self-oscillation. The colour was added to attempt to give external control to the filters' resonance. It controls the oscillation of each filter and can additionally add nonlinearity to the filter for a wide spectrum of tones. The blast switch causes the resonance to become even more pronounced. These two controls work very well in tandem. The drive control adds additional saturation to the input signals. The FIL3 builds on the legacy of the FIL2 and adds additional functionality that provides character and grit.
