In the Eurorack world, the name Noise Engineering is synonymous with unflinchingly brutal and uncompromisingly digital sound in a compact format. Based in Los Angeles, the company perpetrates a decidedly intellectual approach to synthesis, complete with comprehensive design documentation. Their first module was the Ataraxic Translatron and the rest is history. Some of their most popular devices include the Loquelic Iteritas, Basimilus Iteritas, and the Manis Iteritas.

Despite their employing a novel and often heady means of digital synthesis (such as summation synthesis, VOSIM, and complex FM algorithms), Noise Engineering’s user interfaces are approachable and fun; they have an uncanny way of making complex structures playable and accessible in terms of both sound design and rhythmic organization.
