Offering plenty of slick moves, Moonwalker from Metabolic Devices is a fully analog LFO, oscillator, and envelope generator with precision controls and abundant functionality. Like most function generators, Moonwalker utilizes controls for Attack and Decay times, but with a clever twist. The module gets its name from the ability to swap between the settings between the rise and fall portions of the output slope, meaning that a rising swell with slow attack and fast decay will become an abrupt pluck with short attack and long decay. A single press to the reverse button simply reverses the function's curvature, but briefly holding the button enables an alternating mode where the timings will swap for every cycle.

Moonwalker also features a full 360 degrees of phase control, with some clever behavior depending on whether the module is outputting unipolar or bipolar voltages. In Unipolar mode, adjusting the phase maintains an output voltage range of zero to ten volts while simply adjusting the starting amplitude depending on the phase offset, while Bipolar mode starts and ends at zero volts and allows for full inversion of the output shape. These changes are reflected whether or not cycle is engaged, allowing for unique manipulation of envelopes and LFOs. There's also a reference output that's totally unaffected by the phase control, allowing for the easy creation of related, staggered modulation sources. Moonwalker is fully capable of operating as an audio oscillator as well, offering an input for accurate 1V/oct tracking across the full range of audio frequencies.
