Ieaskul F. Mobenthey Sprott

Sprott by Ieaskul F. Mobenthey, from the same universe as Ciat-Lonbarde, is a chaos-jerk model masquerading as a filter. At its most tame settings, Sprott behaves like a filter, but it quickly moves into bizarre and exciting territories. The circuit is something of chaos model—specifically a chaos jerk model as defined by J.C. Sprott, for whom the module is named. As such, processing signals can quickly devolve into self-oscillation and saturation, but its this delicate duality of balance teetering on the edge of chaos that makes patching with Sprott so intriguing.

Sprott contains an input VCA, as well as outputs for lowpass, bandpass, highpass, and chaos-pass filter responses. Each filter does feature its own input, but the interconnected nature of the chaos model dictates that these are all tied together in a larger way, rather than offering individual processing opportunities. There are also diode inputs, which can impart different, unexplainable filter modulations. Range switches on each filter nudge its processing range up or down into audio or control voltage ranges.

In short Sprott is and is not a filter, but like all other IFM modules, will reward those patching with curiosity and without expectations.
