Dave Smith’s foray into the realm of Eurorack continues with the next module in their modular series: the DSM02. Now, synthesists can infuse their Eurorack setup with some of the most renowned effects in the industry, sourced from two of the most popular synths on the market. The DSM02 is ideal for sound design applications as it contains five digital effects that originated from the Character section of DSI’s Prophet 12 and Pro 2 synthesizers. These effects are intended to alter and mutate sounds to varying degrees of subtlety.

Girth: enhances low-frequency harmonics, adding some thickness to the signal

Air: enhances high-frequencies for added presence

Decimate: sample rate reduction for some lo-fi inspiration

Hack: a bitcrusher capable of mangling a signal to the point where it is unrecognizable

Drive: applies overdrive and saturation to the signal, providing both warmth and harmonic distortion  

In addition to the 5 effects, the DSM02 offers CV control over the depth of each effect, and a 24-bit, 96 kHz resolution digital signal path. Taking up a mere 14hp, the DSM02 is the perfect way to add some luscious effects to your sonic palette
