Weston Precision Audio SV1
Weston Precision Audio's SV1 is an incredibly handy dual VCA, offering you both vintage and modern sonic flavors along with optional stereo adaptivity. Through a shared input on each channel, the SV1 provides independent outputs for a vintage-style discrete transistor VCA and a modern, clean chip-based option. Input level controls allow you to push up to +6dB of input gain, while the Level CV attenuators also offer up 2x gain of external control signals. There are also Bias controls, opening up the VCA from silence to allow for continuous sound output or the use of inverted envelopes for ducking and pseudo-sidechaining effects.
The bright minds at Weston Precision Audio have also packed in some other goodies to make the SV1 even more useful. The Link button at the top allows the left-sdie controls and CV input to affect the right, giving you easy stereo operation. There's also a switchable overdrive circuit for gritty textures, and an optional zero-crossing detection circuit can eliminate clicks from extra snappy envelopes. Truly a contender for a be-all, end-all VCA, the SV1 from Weston Precision Audio is worthy addition to racks of any size.
