Wavefonix's 2710 Envelope Follower is a fantastic source of modulation and preamplification into the modular system with its design inspired by the beloved ARP 2600 synthesizer. Before even considering the envelope following possibilities, the 2710 acts as a solid foundation for introducing external signals into your modular system with both a 1/4" instrument input and 1/8" microphone input. The source switch determines what input is being preamplified and the gain range in which the gain knob is centered around, and the two available preamp outputs offer multiple points of introduction in your patches while the clipping indicator helps monitor and manage the cleanest signal.

The envelope follower section is normalled to the incoming preamp signal, but this can easily be bypassed via the envelope input with any modular level signal. 2710's level control determines the final EF output's modulation level and the smoothing switch applies a slower and slewed approach for less snappy and more gradual modulation throughout your patches. With a built-in comparator monitoring the EF output with both trigger and gate outputs, the 2710 Envelope Follower provides flexible control and amplification for those wishing to integrate external sounds, vocals, guitar, and much more into their modular rack.
