The Fen-tone from Warm Audio is a modern recreation of iconic 1950's ribbon microphones, offering classic tones with modern engineering and premium components. It features an all-analog, high-impedance JFET preamp, adding an additional 26dBs of clean analog gain to your signal with Phantom Power. This is a true bypass active circuit, meaning it does not impact the integrity of the passive ribbon mic circuit. The Fen-tone has a figure-eight polar pattern and pencil-style design with ventilated sides for recording everything directly in front of and behind the mic, ideal for capturing the energy of the room in tandem with the sound source itself.

The Fen-tone was tailor-made for capturing tight low-end and rich midrange with a frequency response of 30Hz to 15kHz for delivering powerful lows, and forgiving highs. It excels on loud sound sources, boasting a whopping max SPL of 148dB, and an Output Impedance of 300 Ohms when passive, and 150 Ohms when active. This is in combination with its figure-eight polar pattern make the Fen-tone ideal for capturing louder sound sources that require high-detail recordings, such as guitar cabs, horns or drum overheads.
