Warm Audio's WA-2MPX is not just a two-channel preamp, but an authentic reproduction of the AMPEX Tube Pre containing premium components for rich, warm, tape-era color and saturation. Drawing from the first reel-to-reel recorder—the AMPEX 351—as a blueprint, WA-MPX aims to bring you an authentic vintage sound complete with a nice bit of tape saturation when you need it, or just get a subtle bit of coloration with clarity. Using three tubes per channel, custom-wound CineMag transformers, and premium analog components that authentically recreate 15IPS tape saturation, the WA-2MPX is your key for the special sauce on your tracks. Not just for microphones: select between Mic, Line and Instrument signals complete with two 1/4" input on front so you can easily plug in your bass, guitar, or synth for a nice bit of saturation. Independent switches for each channel lets you engage an 80Hz HPF, 2kHz LPF, Tone, and Tape Saturation gives you creatively restrictive controls and with a High Gain switch you can accurately capture high output devices with more clarity than saturation.
