Vongon Paragraphs II
Paragraphs II from Vongon is a revitalized update to their 4-pole low pass envelope filter pedal, now with stereo I/O, ultra-low noise, and even more ways to modulate and shape incoming audio. The filter design is based on the rich and resonant emulation of a Moog-style ladder filter found in Vongon's Replay synthesizer, which imparts a wonderfully smooth and tuneful character as you move the filter cutoff and sounds great on any source. Ideal for taming and shaping complex and distorted timbres, Paragraphs II offers precise control over cutoff and resonance. The resonance control extends into self-oscillation as a pure sine wave, useful for creating bubbling pings and sweeps at high settings.
Where Paragraphs II starts to truly shine is when employing the multitude of modulation options provided to bend and morph spectral content into organic and lively gestures. The rise/fall envelope from its predecessor has returned with a new trick up its sleeve. New modes enable Paragraphs II to dynamically respond to your playing by opening and closing the filter, with each channel processed differently to create stereo effects. Follower mode controls the cutoff frequency based on your signal amplitude, while trigger mode detects signals above a threshold and uses these transients to trigger the envelope. For more synth-like wobbles and rhythmic swells, cycle mode turns the envelope into an LFO. Rise and fall parameters extend from five milliseconds to four seconds, enabling rhythmic jolts, patient swells, and everything in between.
In addition to the envelope, an additional LFO helps create stereo widening by processing the left and right channels with inverted phase. As you increase the depth of LFO modulation, the shape of this control becomes increasingly randomized. This can create anything from slowly swaying stereo tremolos to Leslie speaker flutters, dying tape machine warbles to psychonautical ring-mod style effects, and more. Take your sound design even further with its CV/expression input to connect external controllers and synths, or explore the comprehensive MIDI implementation to expressively control all effect settings. Inputs are suitable for both instrument and line level sources, so Paragraphs II is perfect for any instrumental set up. If you're looking for a stereo filter effect with deep sound design possibilities, dynamic control, and a beautifully resonant sound, the Vongon Paragraphs II is the pedal for you.
Paragraphs II Features
