Tubbutec 6m0d6

A collaboration between Tubbutec and LPZW, the 6m0d6 is a Eurorack module designed around the soundset of the classic Roland TR-606 with additional parameters that stretch beyond its original inspiration. With orange markers on the panel to set your unit to the original 606 sound profile, 6m0d6 expands upon its inspiration by adding variable tuning options, variable noise sources from the original noise and metal source as well as an additional XOR ring mod noise source, decay lengths, and much more. Not only can you switch the snare, cymbal, and hi hat noise source, but you can also control the tuning of both noise & metal sources and furthermore control the distance between the metal source's spread, originally made with six square waves.

The five sound sources (bass drum, snare drum, low/high tom, cymbal and hi hats) and accent all have level controls and trigger inputs, with additional separation between the low & high tom and closed & open hat. The trigger input normalizes any trigger/gate signal to a 1.2ms trigger, but you can determine whether the cymbal follows this rule or not via the CY.Pulse feature. For less cable clutter, the 6m0d6 can be connected to the Tubbutec 6equencer via LINK jumper on the back, and with the 1U 6equencer being the same HP, you have a perfect setup for 606 madness! Additionally to the mix output, you have five individual outputs that break the normal to the mix output when in use.

CV control over multiple parameters allow for dynamic and melodic drum beats, and an additional TRS MIDI input allows for sequencing with outboard gear along with six-voice paraphonic control of the metal source. Easy to integrate with any system and powerful enough to make classic and contemporary drum machine sounds, the 6m0d6 brings an expansive set of rhythmically sonic possibilities.

Product Demo Videos
3 increasingly weird ways to program a TR-606 module (but keep it satisfying)
This is a blend of: A 606 clone eurorack module demo (the LPZW/@tubbutec 6m0d6), and a tutorial - laced with tips and tricks - exploring three increasingly weird ways to trigger and modulate (drum) modules in general - using Gate & CV, Trigger Riot, and sneaky tricks in Ableton Live & MIDI. The overall theme is: Keeping the results “musical” and satisfying.

We'll also make a generative sequencer with the Mutable instruments stages and use it to control the excellent Doepfer A-111-6. We'll drive it with the Music Thing Mini Drive. We'll turn the Tiptop Audio Trigger Riot into a modulation sequencer. We'll then use Ableton Live and we'll absolutely smash this thing to bits with some simple but very interesting methods to get completely wild patterns, that would take a LOT of modules to do in analog-land.

One thing I forgot to show/demo! It responds to dynamic triggers (eg gates of differing heights) which is very cool
