Tiptop Audio HATS909

The Tiptop Audio HATS909 brings classic 909 hats into the Eurorack paradigm. Emulating the TR-909's original Closde and Open hat circuits, the HATS909 provides classic sound but also offers new features that further the capabilities of the original instrument.

The original TR-909 circuit uses 6-bit samples processed with analog envelope and filtering. The HATS909 offers manual and voltage control of the sample tuning for "downsampling" into a circuit-bent, crunchy hat mess. Either sample tuning or the internal VCA can be externally modulated, offering the possibility of hi hat frequency and amplitude modulation. Perhaps most interesting, the module can also produce the raw, continuous sample sound for the purpose of external processing.
