The Tannoy Gold 5 is a 200-watt bi-amplified nearfield studio reference monitor that provides superior sound reproduction and incredible definition. The Dual Concentric drive technology minimizes crossover points and preserves the tone of your sound.

The titanium tweeter features point source Tulip Waveguide with symmetrical dispersion, which has a wide range of sweet-spots and provides unmatched focus and accuracy. The Gold 5 is superb for long usage as it provides non-fatiguing sound. The front-firing bass port offers incredible low frequency response and allows the monitor to be placed near a wall.

The Gold 5 uses a class-AB system for its bi-amplification. Class-A amplifiers work great at lower volumes, but a great deal of power is lost as heat when outputting hundreds of watts. Class-B amplifiers are more efficient power-wise but tend to add distortion to signals. Class-AB brings together the best of both worlds with the linear performance of class-A with the efficiency of class-B.

The monitor can be used with two audio sources with simultaneously continually-active TRS and XLR inputs. Additionally, with a 3.5mm AUX TRS input the signal can be selected to be left or right. The Gold 5 features input trim, bass, and treble adjust to find the response that best fits the room the monitor is in. When not in use, the Gold 5 can be configured to automatically switch to a power-saving stand-by mode.
