Strymon UltraViolet

The vibes are on with Strymon's UltraViolet: their latest compact pedal that contains an incredibly convincing model of classic UniVibe effect. UniVibe has a reputation as being one of the most difficult analog effects to recreate as a digital emulation, due in no small part to the peculiarities of vintage circuit design. However, Strymon has gone to great lengths to model the retro light bulbs and photoresistors that are essential to the UniVibe DNA, and in UltraViolet you get both accuracy and flexibility in a compact and reliable digital pedal.

With typical Speed, Intensity, and Volume controls, UltraViolet puts the classic controls at your fingertips. However, Strymon took the time to add in some additional features for some more versatility. Expanding on the original's Chorus and Vibrato modes, which respectively featured 50/50 and 100% wet effect blends, the new Blend mode offers 70/30% blend for a much more subtle take on the UniVibe sound. Additionally, the three-position Bias switch allows you to tune UltraViolets effect around low, mid, or high frequencies. And like all other compact Strymon pedals, you'll get TRS I/O with optional stereo operation, a quality JFET input preamp, and MIDI over USB-C and TRS connections. If you're chasing classic guitar tones, give the Strymon UltraViolet a listen—we're sure you'll vibe with it.
