ELZ_1 Play expands the original set of sounds in the ELZ_1 without tossing out any of the old favorites, for a whopping seventeen total synth engines to explore. Everything from lo-fi 8-bit wave mangling, virtual analog, filtered noise, granular synthesis, FM, physical modeling, a detuned super oscillator, and even a comprehensive drum machine. Explore presets or dive deep to create your own sounds, with multiple envelope types, filter modes, and effects to help you create unique and impactful timbres. Depending on the engine you select, ELZ_1 offers a polyphony count of up to twenty voices and a minimum of six.

Use the velocity sensitive keyboard to create expressive performances, or create rhythmic passages with the multimode arpeggiator. The onboard 128 step sequencer is great for creating specific patterns for drums and more. The formidable four track looper is at the center of ELZ_1 Play's excellence as a compositional tool, enabling you to quickly layer ideas into full songs or create improvised layers mid-performance. Each track can be overdubbed and adjusted, with adjustable record time quantizations, one shot playback, and undo/redo functionality.

Finally, ELZ_1's connectivity integrates seamlessly into virtually any production workflow. Connect MIDI bidirectionally via 5-pin DIN and USB, or sync with other portable devices using the analog 3.5mm mono sync input and output. You can get other instruments recorded into the looper via the 3.5mm stereo audio input, add effects, and use ELZ_1 Play as the center of a larger set up. Adding even more convenience, ELZ_1 Play works as a two input, two output USB audio interface, perfectly integrating into DAW workflows.
