SOMA Laboratory Rumble of Ancient Times
Unearth horrors with SOMA Lab's Rumble of Ancient Times, a compact, 8-bit noise synthesizer and sequencer that will scratch that glitch itch. RoAT is based around four audio oscillators, each with tunable waveforms and LFO, and you combine these signals in ways that can be dynamically played using the touch plates or sequence them, which invert the on/off state. The sequencer records a short, 4/4 rhythmic pattern that's performed on the pads and can be layered. Using the Sync output, you can easily connect it to other devices, as well. For proper sonic sculpting, there's an attack/release envelope and filter, both of which control the final mix. The envelope is turned off when using the sequencer or touch plates.
Integrated into the RoAT, for skittering weirdness, is the Chaos button that randomizes all parameters except the page currently selected, envelope, and system settings. This makes for very playable and controlled randomizations. Additionally, there's a slow morphing setting that will slowly change just a few or all the settings over time. With eight different summing operations for combining voices 1+2, 2+3, and 3+4, there's no shortage of unique sounds. Create living walls of dense noise, rhythmic patterns, or glitched-out atmospheres with the Rumble of Ancient Times from SOMA Laboratory.
