E 609 Silver is a dynamic instrument microphone with a supercardioid pick-up pattern from Sennheiser. The shape, and the frequency response of the mic were explicitly optimized for close-miking of guitar cabinets. Reportedly, E 609 also performs really well on drums. The supercardioid pick-up pattern works particularly well for filtering out all the non-relevant sounds on stage.
