Bonkers from Raw Analogue Sound is a dual analog distortion effect that provides a comprehensive signal smashing, feedback terror, and audio obliteration for your Eurorack rig. Each channel is identical, with mirrored positions on the panel for its many layers of sound sculpting mayhem. Tracing Bonkers' ludicrous signal flow, your audio is first routed through a side chain VCA before hitting the first drive stage. This flexible saturator offers six clipping modes via a rotating switch. From here, sculpt your tone with a powerful three-band EQ, featuring two selectable center frequency modes for each band. The signal is then blended with the clean tone at the output. An additional drive stage with two clipping modes can be routed pre EQ or post MIX to add even more intensity to the clipping effect. Finally, the signal is mixed with the other channel via a central crossfader, letting you smoothly morph between drive tones.

Between the EQ and initial VCA, Bonkers allows for routing feedback, introducing sizzling self-oscillations that can be pitched around and tamed with the gain stages and EQ settings. Especially with the second drive stage in Pre EQ mode, this feedback can get very aggressive and gnarly at high gain settings, so Bonkers gives you a few warning lights to let you know when you've hit its namesake territory. Use the side chain input to duck incoming audio to help basslines and kick drums sit well in a mix, or experiment for more creative applications. Bonkers also features an envelope follower output with smoothed and normal modes, which can make for a useful CV signal to control other aspects of your patch.
