For the engineers needing to communicate from the control room to artists, look no further than Radial Engineering's Studio-Q, a desktop talkback controller with tons of functionality. Pair with your console or interfaces outputs to cue to your session musicians with stereo I/O and independent leveling via the "program" control. Either using the built-in omni mic or an external microphone, easily tap in to your artist's headphones with individual level control over both microphones, and setting a Dim level will lower the program volume as you engage talkback so your artist can hear you while performing and recording.

Additional control can be applied via Radial's JR-1, their proprietary footswitch that can be used to engage talkback without reaching across your console, making it easy for you to keep mixing while communicating. Studio-Q also features a remote out that sends a dry contact closure or carry voltage that can easily be used to power a Beacon for extra support in grabbing the artist's attention.
