The Radial Engineering Cherry Picker Studio Preamp Selector is a handy tool that drastically simplifies the process of settling a specific microphone for a track, a conundrum that typically arises when recording vocals. This completely passive, discreet selector box ultimately improves the integrity of the input signal while simultaneously affording a more comfortable sound for the vocalist.
The unit features four front panel selector switches that select the active preamp while simultaneously disengaging the mic from others. Additionally, it provides 48V Phantom Power that is held constant even when switching preamps. Also included are some ground lift switches, which reduce noise through the elimination of ground loops, and mute switches. The latter come in handy when the need to change microphones arises, enabling easy swapping without having to alter presets.
