Whether you're recording with high-gain amps or you simply need to combat noise between songs, the Pigtronix Gatekeeper is a fast, tight, studio-grade noise gate packed into a compact pedal enclosure. Despite the simple controls on its exterior, Gatekeeper contains extremely fast JFET circuitry to slam the noise gate shut as soon as you stop playing—perfect for inhumanly tight chugs with crushing amounts of gain. Dial in Threshold to the point that makes sense for your rig, allowing notes to come through without being cut off. Release allows for a bit of delay from the end of your note to when the gate closes again, and is the key control in defining the character of noise gating. With Gatekeeper, you won't have to worry about annoying hum between sets or amp hiss bleeding through punctuated riffs.
