Omnitone Rhythmi

Rhythmi from Omnitone is a generative drum sequencer for Eurorack modular systems that uses simple parameter controls to create both classic and complex beats for up to five voices. Whether paired with Omnitone's formidable five-voice drum synthesizer Beatsi or alongside a group of your own favorites, Rhythmi directs the dance-floor with utmost flexibility. The Customize section provides controls for each channel's rhythmic density and syncopation, enabling quick creation of a wide range of pattern combinations from the most simple to wildly busy. In Rhythmi's Global section, manual controls for Length of the sequence and Swing amount set basic parameters of the total sequence. The Energy control adjusts the density of all channels, and adds crash cymbal triggers as you approach higher settings. Evolve offers a clickable encoder which allows you to smoothly introduce variations as you turn the knob, or press it for instant changes.

For closed and open hi hats, the density controls adjust the balance of triggers and gates at the high hat output, naturally creating variations in envelope time. Intended for the Tom voice of Beatsi, the Tom channel also features an amount control, which adds stepped pitch modulation to craft a Bozzio-esque array of up to 10 tom drums tuned to the pentatonic scale. Using Rhythmi with the rest of your system, you can use this additional CV pitch output to control pitch or any other parameter as Rhythmi drums along, or use it with Beatsi to craft tuneful drum melodies. At the top of the module, Rhythmi's internal clock is controlled by the Speed encoder. When using an external clock, this control allows multiplication and division of the clock before it is sent to the output. Like Omnitone's other primary offerings, Rhythmi provides a workflow that focuses on dialing in the parametric frame for a musical idea, using ground-up programming to effortlessly create beats within the ruleset you define.
