With TLM 49 Neumann brings the classic tone and character of their legendary M 49 microphone into the modern age. The microphone features a similar design as its iconic sibling, including the K 47 capsule and the gorgeous large headgrille, albeit the original electron tubes have been replaced with much more reliable FET circuitry which has been tweaked specifically to closely resemble the warm sound associated with tube circuits. Its transformerless design ensures balanced frequency response, and extremely quiet operation. Just like M 49 the TLM 49 excels as a vocal microphone, however it can also deliver stunning results with such instruments as acoustic guitar and upright bass.
