The Poly Blue Octave draws from the rich history of MXR octave pedals, covering the sounds of everything from the Vintage Bass Octave and Octavio Fuzz to the Blue Box, but with the advantages of clear and modern polyphonic pitch tracking that allow densely layered chords to ring out nice and strong. And dialing in your personal flavors of octave pitch-shifting couldn't be easier, thanks to the dedicated controls for the dry signal and each of the four octaves: Sub-1, Sub-2, Oct+1, and Oct+2.

But there are even more ways to shape the sounds that the Poly Blue Octave can produce. At the top, the Mono switch serves those pining for the glitchy artifacts of vintage octave pedals, engaging a pitch-tracking mode which is more suited for single-note lines and leads. Mono and Poly modes also affect the Modulation circuit, which has a dedicated rate control. In poly mode, this is a swirling rotary effect, while mono adds a classic Phase-90 style phase shifter.

Finally, the Poly Blue Octave also contains a thick and juicy fuzz circuit, which draws inspiration from the fuzz found in the Blue Box.
