MoogSequencer Complement B Portable
Moog Sequencer Complement B Portable
A modular synthesizer isn't complete without a sequencer, and the Sequencer Complement B Portable Cabinet is the best way to bring automation and movement to your Moog Model 10, or other legacy modular system. Each unit is hand-built and assembled in Moog's Asheville factory, referencing Bob Moog's original schematics and assembly methods for true authenticity.
The centerpiece of the Sequencer Complement B is its dual 960 Sequential Controller modules, which remain a reference point for new sequencers being designed today. Clocked by its internal oscillator or an external source, the 960 offers eight sequencer stages with three rows of controls for defining a stored voltage, which is then output at the right side of the module when a stage is active. Each row can be independently scaled in different voltage ranges, and the third row can optionally apply timing offsets to the duration of each stage. It's also possible to activate each stage manually via push button, or through a gate or trigger signal.
Along the bottom, a handful of additional utility modules allow you to get more mileage out of your Sequencer Complement B. The 961 Sequencer Interface handles conversion between S-Trig and V-Trig formats, allowing for more interesting behaviors to be configured for triggering envelope generators or clocking the sequencer with key presses from a 953 duophonic Keyboard. When converting from V-Trig to S-Trig, the B input column offers selectable timing switches to create various durations of S-Trigger outputs. There's also an audio to V-trig converter, which is an excellent option for creating audio-reactive sequence and control voltage relationships.
There are also two 962 Sequential Switch modules, which allow for more complex routing of the 960's outputs, or any CV or audio signal within your Moog system. Chain together rows of the 960 to create 16 or 24 step sequences, toggle between audio waveforms, or define an infinite number of other switch-based relationships—and with two 962s your possibilities are doubled!
Modular systems are exciting because of their incredible sonic possibilities, but powerful control capabilities are equally, if not more important. Moog's legacy modules were incredible back in the day, and now that they're back in production again, it's obvious that they're still as capable as ever. Simply put, the Sequencer Complement B is perfectly complementary to any classic Moog modular synthesizer.
