Manley Reference Gold Microphone

Beloved by many for its pristine quality and unbeatable attention to detail, the Reference Gold from Manley is a highly flexible, multi-pattern microphone for capturing depth and nuance in any performance. Built around Manley's love for tube-based signal paths, this all-tube microphone comes with its own power supply featuring Manley's highly proficient MANLEY POWER, delivering the highest quality of voltage for capturing the most minute characteristics of singers, instrumentalists, rooms, and much more. Beloved by many since the '90s, Manley's Reference Gold is no-nonsense and can even open up your hearing to brilliant sound you couldn't hear before.

Strikingly lavish with its all gold outer shell, the Reference Gold features a CK12-style capsule, showing off a large diaphragm encircled by a brass ring that holds together the beautiful and sensitive gold plating. All of this can be viewed from the performers POV thanks to the open-weave design of the stainless steel grill, but don't assume this is just for looks, as the open-weave allows much more highs to pass through to the capsule for capturing unbelievable highs and lows. This open weave also reflects the Reference Gold's open sound for capturing nuances heard like never before, whether using for a singer, capturing the room of a drumset or orchestra, or any other use you could dream of in a studio.

The multi-polar pattern is not only highly useful for a multitude of settings, but because it is a continuous and variable design, you can capture in-between patterns that can't be found in a normal set of polar patterns. Of course, you can always dial in the right amount to get your tried-and-true cardioid, figure 8, and omni patterns. The Reference Gold features an all-tube pathway with dynamic power to have the largest headroom and pristine output transformers for recording high-quality sounds into any interface or large-format console. With an option to pad -10dB on louder performances or sounds, the Reference Gold is truly a remarkable microphone for capturing the best representation of any signal.
