Manley Reference Cardioid Microphone

Hand-built for recording excellence, Manley's Reference Cardioid is a fantastic microphone centered around capturing high detail and centered performances. Finding its way as the end-all-be-all for vocalists and voice-over actors, the center-fixed cardioid polar pattern design is chosen for focusing on any source with extreme attention-to-detail. With most of its hardware taken from the ever-popular and versatile Reference Gold, the Reference Cardioid will do all but disappoint performers and engineers.

The Reference Cardioid's capsule features a 6-micron gold sputtered diaphragm that resembles not only the look but also the tone and brilliance of the vintage U47, a beloved condenser microphone that is tried and true. The open-woven grill not only showcases the beautiful capsule, but actually lets in much more high frequencies for a more authentic, natural, and nuanced recording. Many know it for producing "finished" captures that need little-to-any processing or even post-processing that most desire, such as an EQ lift or compression.Additionally, the Reference Cardioid features an engageable -10dB pad for capturing louder sources.

Of course, it wouldn't be Manley if it didn't have tubes, and the Reference Cardioid does not disappoint with a fantastic dual-triode 12AX7 or 7025EH tube powered by Manley's fantastic Manley POWER PSU pushing only the highest quality of voltage. For a highly intricate and detailed recording on vocalists and voice-over artists, look no further than Manley's Reference Cardioid microphone.
