The Sneak Attack from Malekko is a novel application of an essential building block of synthesis, the voltage-controlled amplifier. Malekko have optimized the VCA by adding a widely configurable envelope which can be cycled for woozy tremolo sounds or triggered by sound input, tap or external tempo input, or manually via the Lil Buddy expander. As such, the Sneak Attack is great for rhythmic grooves, sharp staccato stabs, slow volume swells, and many other creative uses of volume.
