MACA utilizes the SSI2140 chip, which is a modern reworking of the classic SSM2040, and is the same filter IC featured in Sequential's recently revived Prophet-5 and Prophet-10 synthesizers. Aside from the iconic 4-pole lowpass output, the addition of 2-pole lowpass and 4-pole bandpass outputs add further versatility to this great sounding filter. The input level can be pushed into overdrive for adding a bit of grit to your sound, and the resonance can be cranked up into self-oscillation for use as a sine wave oscillator.
