Holocene Electronics Air-Wave

The Air-Wave Modulation Source (or Awms) from Holocene Electronics instrumentalizes the chaos constantly streaming through radiowaves in our ambient air to deliver a powerful modulation source separated into three highly useful utilities. At the core of the Air-Wave is its FM radio receiver source, which via the tuning knob or CV input brings the sound of radio stations and the juicy noisy bits between them into your Eurorack system. A squeeze switch lets you amplify and clip this signal to make the most of quieter sonic artifacts, or simply boost the reception at your grungy basement noise gig.

This flexible noise source is normalized to the input of a sample and hold circuit, which is triggered by the onboard LFO section. The combination of these three utilities delivers a classic random voltage generator, though the characteristics of radio signals puts a fun and inspiring spin on random modulation. Intuitively retuning and listening, your random modulation or stepped-sequence is transformed by the ephemeral transmissions received over radio, allowing you to selectively modulate with diverse signals from noise to your favorite talk-radio morning show. Of course, each of the sections of the Air-Wave may be used independently, meaning no matter the patch, you're sure to find a use for its unique audio and CV sources.
