Hikari Instruments Monos 0

Monos 0 from Hikari Instruments is a shift-register-based noise synthesizer and random modulation source, bringing elements of the Monos CV desktop unit to your Eurorack case. Combining a noise oscillator and divider via linear-feedback shift register, Monos 0 excels as a complex and chaotic sound source, and is equally equipped to create controlled random clocks and CV modulation.

Monos 0 generates signals via a shift register clocked by an internal VCO, which is then divided, mixed, and selectively fed back to create non-linear modulations of the internal clock frequency and generated audio signal. With the noise pitch range switch set to low, create clock signals that morph from steady march to stammering spiral and everywhere in between. In the high range, create shifting noise timbres with self-modulating movement for beeps, bloops, and hisses galore. In addition, Monos 0 can be clocked via its external clock input for further complexity or control.

While Monos 0 is a complex little beast with nonlinear behavior, an intuitive slider interface gives you plenty for your fingers to quickly explore its vast sonic capabilities as both noise source and chaotic modulator. Take a spin around its feedback path and hear the power of controlled chaos.
