Magnetosphere Mk2 from Eowave offers an enhanced edition of their formidable, compact low pass filter, now with an integrated vactrol-like envelope for use as a plucky, percussive sound source. As a filter, this ultra compact unit delivers exceptional sound, with a 24dB resonant ladder design that is musical and sweet. Resonance extends into self-oscillation, and along with the cutoff frequency can be controlled with CV. The gain control adjusts input gain, introducing gritty saturation at higher settings.

Where the newly refined Magnetosphere Mk2 starts to depart from its predecessor, many new musical possibilities emerge. Switching out of classic modulation mode, the fixed, vactrol-like envelope generator takes control of the cutoff frequency. Send in a gate or trigger to create percussive sounds while self-oscillating, or use this potent shaper to generate accented notes from an incoming signal. Additionally, an onboard analog noise source is normalled to the input, perfect for those dramatic wooshes, waves, and airy sounds. At the output stage, a clickless transistor VCA has also been added, saving a crucial utility in your patch for more nuanced modulation management.
