Electro-Harmonix SuperEgo

The SuperEgo Synth, from Electro-Harmonix, is a tripartite amalgamation of sampling, synthesis, and sustain functionality housed under a conveniently compact and sturdy chassis that makes it a perfect addition to any pedalboard. With the SuperEgo, users can freeze sounds, slip and slide between frozen tones, build dense sonic layers, and apply an external effects loop to a single effect. Additionally, the pedal can locate new notes and chords and subsequently sustain them without any intervention on part of the user. Simply sit back and let it do its thing while occasionally manipulating the attack and decay parameters to taste.

The pedal features three modes: Auto, Latch, and Momentary. There’s a toggle switch in the center that switches between each mode, with Momentary occupying the middle position.

Electro Harmonix Superego
A synth engine that performs fluid glissandos, and creates oscillator like synthesizer effects.

The Electro-Harmonix Superego Synth Engine effects pedal is a unique product that combines elements of sampling, synthesis and infinite sustain. The Superego allows you to freeze sound, gliss between frozen tones, layer sounds and place an external effects loop on only the effect. In addition, the Superego can detect new notes or chords and sustain them automatically without requiring you to step on the footswitch. It even lets you tweak attack and decay, or use its effects loop to invent novel synth patches.

The Superego has three modes: Latch, Momentary and Auto. A toggle switch at the center of the Superego chooses between the three. Momentary mode is not labeled in the artwork; it is the center (or eye) position of the 3-position toggle switch.
