The POG2, from Electro-Harmonix, is legendary for a reason. This prolific polyphonic octave generator can do everything from odd 18-string guitar impressions to dense walls of sound. There’s an Attack control that lets users fade in swells as they please, offering a perfect avenue for dramatic performances, and an additional sub-octave for optimal low-end. Other features include a 2-pole resonant low-pass filter with two added Q modes, and a detune setting that lets users fine tune the signal.

The POG2 can also save and recall parameter settings with a single click, so there’s no need to redial each individual setting before every performance. All of this is housed inside a compact and sturdy die-cast enclosure.
