Electro-Harmonix Cathedral
The Cathedral Deluxe Stereo Reverb Pedal, from Electro-Harmonix, imparts a distinctly rich presence organized across seven individual reverb modes, as well as a digital echo that transforms the pedal into a 2-second digital delay; all effects are optimized for true stereo operation. Since the pedal is fully programmable, users can store and recall settings at their convenience.
The pedal features two spring modes: Grail Spring and Accu Spring. The former is based on Holy Grail’s spring emulation, while the latter is a recreation of an Accutronics spring tank. Additionally, the pedal provides four reverb algorithms: Hall, Room, Plate, and Reverse. Things get even crazier with the pedal’s 2-second pre-delay and adjustable feedback, which allow for spacious echoes. All of this combined with the Cathedral’s integrated tap tempo switch, which affords the ability to set presets with one’s foot, enables practically limitless reverb whenever the footswitch is depressed.
