Elby Designs ED116
The Elby Designs ED116 contains the same circuit as their ED115 module while adding some additional features. More specifically, it provides manual settings for the Red/Blue composition of the Violet noise, as well as rate control over the random source.
The noise generator features a white noise output (produced by an NPN transistor), pink noise output (a combo of a 3dB octave filter and a buffer amplifier), violet noise output (featuring two frequency dependent elements in its feedback path), random noise output (essentially a 12dB/oct low-pass filter passing through low frequency components to produce a random voltage), and a digital random output. The digital random generates a +5V output each time the random voltage exceeds +2V, a -5V output when the voltage falls below -2V, and a 0V when the voltage is between -2V and +2V.
The module also features a sample & hold section, which takes a random sample of the input and sends it to the output, resulting in a random voltage that changes in accordance with the positive edge present in the output.
