Delptronics ThunderBell Analog Cowbell

The ThunderBell, from Delptronics, is an analog cowbell module for eurorack modular synthesizer systems. It features a circuit that was inspired by the cowbell sound found in the Korg KR-55. Consequently, the sound produced is the result of two tuned square waves in tandem with pseudo ring modulation—just like the KR-55.

Unlike many vintage drum machines, where the cowbell was not able to be tuned, the ThunderBell features two square waves that remain in tune across an exceptionally wide frequency range. This along with the module’s efficient decay control enabled the creation of shorter and longer percussive hits.
