Data Corrupter PLL Phase-Locked Loop Pedal
Earthquaker Data Corrupter PLL Phase-Locked Loop Pedal
The Data Corrupter, from EarthQuaker Devices, is a chaotic but tamable Modulated Monophonic Harmonizing Phase Locked Loop pedal that utilizes three voices. A phase locked loop works by essentially turning the input signal into a square wave, and then having other oscillators synchronize via divisions or multiplications of the original square wave. This provides harmonically complex synthesizer-like tone from just a guitar.Â
The Subharmonic and Master Oscillators both have eight-position rotary switches to decide octave placement or interval, with a glide control for the master oscillator. Volume controls for each voices allows for a wide range of harmonic manipulation. The Data Corrupter contains an all analog signal path, with true bypass.
