The Cranborne Audio Camden 500 is a 500-series mic preamp that offers a wide range of behaviors, from incredibly clean to warm and colorful. While it offers some of the most transparent and linear performance when it comes to preamps, the two-mode Mojo circuit adds a bit of saturation to push your mix and add a bit of character. Get unmatched clarity and detail thanks to the custom "Camden" topology. This ensures stunning linear performance by extending the frequency response beyond the audio spectrum to achieve THD-N as low as 0.0002% and <2 degrees of phase shift between 50Hz-20kHz. Select between a mic input on XLR (with +48V phantom power) and the front panel 1/4" input with either line or high-Z behavior. The Mojo circuit features two modes, Thump and Cream. Thump gives British style saturation by boosting even/odd harmonics in the 160Hz-20Hz range. Cream increases odd/even harmonics while reducing the amplitude of the fundamental frequencies while also adding transformer-style transient shaping. Vary the amount of saturation in your mix to get the perfect balance of punchiness, body, and clarity.
