Clank Toolbox

Toolbox from Clank is a collection of crucial utilities for any Eurorack system, providing a wide array of simple signal processors that bring out the flexibility and fun of a modular synthesizer. When you're building sounds from scratch, it's imperative to have the right tools for any creative situation, and Toolbox ensures you're never without that additional utility when your music demands it. While Toolbox's many functions offer a powerful assortment of tools on their own, you can also patch between them to create more complex functions and creative signal flows.

At the top of Toolbox, two linear VCAs with snappy response help process audio and CV signals using other signals. Below these are two independent summing mixers, which combine two signals into sum, inverted sum, and both OR and AND logic operations. In the center of the module, a bidirectional sequential switch lets you switch between two inputs or outputs with a gate signal. To the right of the switch, two flip-flop gates output sub-octave square waves derived from an input signal. In the bottom right corner, two offset and attenuverter channels let you dial in the scaling and DC offset of any signal. Finally, the bottom left block offers two summing mixers with active multiplication, with useful normalizations for using them as a single, five-channel summing mixer and multiple.

The jack marked "threshold" sets a level above which all functions marked with an asterisk will trigger, affecting the logic comparators, sequential switch, and flip flop functions. A powerful way to affect multiple aspects of a Toolbox patch, this simple input can be a primary interface for affecting a complex system of logic and switching. Whether you're patching up analog chaos with these functions combined or simply adding useful functions for use separately, Toolbox from Clank offers huge potential in just 12HP, making simple patches more effective, and paving a way forward for complex networks of CV control.
