Chaos from Behringer brings controllable random modulation to any Eurorack system, perfect for generating unique beats, melodic gestures, and complex modulations. Based on the Mutable Instruments classic Marbles, Chaos offers an affordable source for the same set of formidable random CV and gate generating tools. Chaos starts with an internal or external clock source, which can be adjusted in rate or division by the rate knob. This clock source provides scaffolding for the t and X generators, which create triggers and random CV values according to the settings selected by the panel controls.

The trigger-oriented t generator makes random clock rhythms with a humanized or warped feel, with multiple modes including coin flip, ratio, and alternating that affects the distribution of triggers between outputs t1 and t3 in relation to the bias settings. Similarly, the X generator uses multiple modes to generate control voltages in time with the clock, with spread, range, and step controls to adjust the random sequences generated at the X outputs. Finally, the Y output generates a separate but related voltage from output X2. Using the feedback section, you can adjust the randomness amount for all three generators, and set a global loop length.

Additional ways to inject randomness from incoming CVs, multiple preset scale modes for voltage quantization, and more add up to an incredibly comprehensive source of random control.
