With the TransX from ART, two channels of transformer-based microphone preamp goodness are instantly accessible in a tidy and straightforward package. Thanks to its usage of transformer-coupled inputs and outputs, your mic signals can be boosted to generous gain levels without introducing troublesome noise or interference.

TransX offers the essential controls to get your signal levels healthy and optimally prepared for recording or further shaping by other outboard gear. The input Gain control provides up to +58dB of gain in discrete, 3dB steps, but an additional 10dB may be added or taken away via the variable Trim control. If that's still too much for your source signal, engage the -20dB pad to reduce some of the edge. Should your mic be a bit noisy or prone to pops, the 6dB/oct Low Cut filter is handy for rolling off some of that undesirable elements of your signal. Speaking of enhancing the sound of your mic, the variable Impedance control applies subtle tweaks to frequency response and character of the connected microphone, ensuring that any mic will pair well with the TransX.
