Animal Factory Tannhäuser Gates
Mix, mute, and mangle up to four different audio signals with the Animal Factory Tannhäuser Gates. Though it draws loose inspiration from Buchla 110 Gates module, Animal Factory's take packs in plenty of modern features to get more mileage out of your rig. Each channel offers individual audio inputs, audio outputs, and CV inputs, plus controls for Gain, Pan, EQ, Offset, and CV attenuation levels. The Gain controls allow for nice driven textures when pushed hard, while the bipolar CV controls allow for swelling and ducking effects to be created with LFOs and envelopes. There's also a Master CV input for controlling all channels, as well as click-less mute switches for each channel. There's also a stereo send and return loop for applying effects to your mix, and rear headers allow you to chain up to three more Tannhäuser Gates together for a full 16 channels of mixing. Based loosely on the Buchla 100 series Gates, each channel boasts a discrete VCA with a rich overdrive sound, stereo panning, a tilt EQ and an easily accessible mute switch. Each channel can be used individually as a mono track or all four can be summed down to the stereo output. The four channels have an individual CV input, or they can all be controlled via a master CV input.
The Tannhäuser Gates also hosts the capability for a stereo send and return path, expanding your sonic arsenal to other processing modules.
Tannhäuser Gates is designed with future expansion in mind. Adding up to three more Tannhäuser Gates modules, it is possible to build a performance mixer system of up to 16 channels, all summed to a single output module. The back side of the module is equipped with a number of expansion headers for easy integration with future modules.
