Akai MPX16

The Akai MPX16 is a portable wav sampler that utilizes SD cards to achieve a powerful performance that has been successfully implemented into both studio and stage workflows. The samples are triggered internally via pads or an external MIDI controller. In addition to sampling duties, the MPX16 can also function as a MIDI controller and Ableton clip launcher, making it a versatile unit that can be used to great effect in both studio and stage environments. Adding to this versatility is the ability to record CD quality samples via the unit’s 6.3mm inputs or through its stereo microphone and save them to an SD card. From there, the sound can be conveniently transferred to a Mac or PC via simple drag-and-drop operation.
