Akai MPK Mini Plus

Akai's MPK Mini Plus is a huge step forward in the realm of portable MIDI and CV controllers with 37-note Gen 2 dynamic keybed, real MPC pads, full size MIDI ports, and CV connectivity to control your modular hardware. Using the same design language as their popular MPK Mini, the Mini Plus not only gives you more keys, but also the ins and outs that purveyors of electronic arts require for realizing their work in a live setting or in the studio. Ditch the dongle with full size 5-pin MIDI ins and outs; CV outputs for pitch, gate, and mod wheel gives you more direct control over modular equipment, and the 3.5mm clock in and out ports makes it a breeze to sync with devices. Sync you will want, as the MPK Plus boasts an onboard arpeggiator with step sequencer that can be edited on-the-fly, plus each step can hold 8 notes of polyphony, or 16 notes per drum step.

Control is what the MPK Plus brings to the table with 8 endless encoder knobs that are freely assignable, chords mode that gives you diatonically correct chord shapes and inversions, additionally you can quantize your keys to one of 15 different scales, so you're always in key. Express yourself with ease using the second generation dynamic keybed that gives you the dynamic control you want for gently—or frantically—coaxing the notes from your hardware or software. Use the unique, freely assignable X/Y joystick for further sonic manipulation and all of the information is conveyed to you via the crispy OLED screen. If you need a compact keyboard controller that is ready to connect to anything and gives you proper dynamic expression, the Akai MPK Plus is what you need.
